Award winners garner prestige from their industry peers and become more well-known in the industry and in their communities.

Awards of Excellence

Members have the opportunity to enter their projects in various categories to showcase their talent and skills. Awards are presented at our annual convention in Louisville. Entries are due annually between July and August.

Leadership Awards

Deadline: June 15
  • Association Leadership Award—This award honors a State or Regional Association and their Executive Director for contributions to the landscape industry within their state/region and nationally as a member of NALP.
  • Lifetime Leadership Award—This award is presented annually to a NALP member who has demonstrated both leadership and service, as well as made a commitment and contributions to both the landscape industry and NALP. Eligible nominees must be active members.
  • Woman Entrepreneur of the Year Award—This award recognize an outstanding female entrepreneur in the landscape industry who has demonstrated entrepreneurial spirit and initiative, ensured advancement of the landscape industry by actions and endeavors, and serves as a shining example to current and future female entrepreneurs. It is presented annually at the executive-level leadership meeting.
  • Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award—This award recognizes a young entrepreneur age 40 or under who has demonstrated entrepreneurial spirit and initiative, and serves as a shining example to students in pursuit of a landscape industry career. It highlights the importance of private enterprise in the landscape industry as a viable career opportunity among our country’s youth, and investing in the growth of entrepreneurship in America. It is presented annually at the National Collegiate Landscape Competition.

Advocacy Awards

Deadline: May 31

As NALP significantly bolsters efforts on the advocacy front, we would like to recognize those individuals who are going above and beyond in terms of helping represent and defend interests of the industry.

Community Partnership Awards

Deadline: June 15

These awards would recognize companies who demonstrate leadership in helping restore or revive their communities or other communities. Award winners would be those companies that are actively engaged in their communities, making continuous positive contributions while also highlighting the aesthetic, environmental and quality of life benefits that the landscaping industry brings to communities across America.

Environmental Stewardship Awards

Deadline: June 15

To recognize companies in the industry who go above and beyond to enhance and protect the environment. These awards will help spotlight the environmental vision and leadership in our industry and would celebrate companies who take proactive and innovative action that sets them apart from others in the industry. Awards could highlight issues such as pollinator health and water conservation.

Safety Recognition Awards

Safety Recognition Awards are designed to reward landscape professionals who consistently demonstrate their commitment to safety, and reflects the dedication of these individuals and their companies to creating and maintaining safe work environments.This important award is proudly sponsored by CNA.
