Day of Service is Evolving
We started Day of Service in 2009 as a way to make a difference in people’s lives and help educate them about the important contributions that landscape professionals make every day in their communities. Since the program’s inception, 1,100 volunteer landscape projects have been completed under the Day of Service umbrella. Those projects have impacted people’s lives in big and small ways, leaving a lasting legacy.
Our Day of Service program was impactful but not very flexible to fit around members' busy schedules. We will be replacing the Day of Service with a program that is flexible; allowing NALP members to do community service projects at any time of year, allowing you to impact and educate, gain recognition, and tie your projects to a bigger national campaign.
Look for more details in early 2016 about our new community service program, and in the meantime, thank you for the time and effort you have given to projects under the Day of Service umbrella. And by all means, if Day of Service, on Earth Day, has become special to your company or you community, you can keep doing your projects. With our new program, you will be able to do the service projects that are important to you on Earth Day, or at any time of year.
We look forward to providing you with new and expanded opportunities to help support your community service work and to provide recognition for the great contributions that you make to your community.
