NALP’s Legislative Days is Now Virtual on February 15

Fairfax, VA., February 2, 2022 —The National Association of Landscape Professionals is holding a Virtual Legislative Days, with briefings on February 15, 2022, and Zoom meetings schedule with legislative offices over the course of the following week.

Legislative Days was originally going to be held in person in Washington DC, but recent guidance issued by the House of Representatives Attending Physician advising against in-person meetings on the Hill due to Covid, has limited the possibility of in-person meetings with elected official and eliminated the ability to hold any large events on the Capitol Hill complex.

The event is free and open to all landscape and lawn care professionals who want to take an active role in advocating for responsible policies. Key issues this year including H-2B reform, healthy green spaces and combating climate change and defending the Federal Insecticide Fungicide Rodenticide Act (FIFRA).

“While we are disappointed that we can’t go together to Capitol Hill as a group, it is still very important to talk to policymakers and their legislative teams,” said Andrew Bray, NALP’s vice president of government affairs. “We held an effective Virtual Legislative Days in 2021, and with industry participation we can be effective again in what is unfortunately, becoming the new normal in the past two years in Washington.”

Legislative Days is made possible with support from Bayer and John Deere.
