    Arlington National Cemetery & The American Veterans Disabled for Life Memorial

    For 27 years, Renewal & Remembrance has been a signature association event. Each July, lawn care and landscape professionals from across the country donate their time and expertise to enhance the grounds at Arlington National Cemetery and honor the men and women buried there. NALP will also host an additional large landscape project at the American Veterans Disabled for Life Memorial. We encourage you to join us and give back.

What to Expect This Year at Arlington National Cemetery:

  • At ANC, volunteers will complete projects including applying lime, cultivating soil & planting flowers, installing new trees, tree rings and lightning protection to trees and various irrigation, landscape and hardscape projects.
  • The Children's Program: Volunteers’ children will be invited to participate in activities specifically designed for them. There needs to be one parent/legal guardian present for a child to participate in the program. The parent/legal guardian cannot work on a project elsewhere.
  • Only working volunteers can attend the R&R event at ANC due to capacity restrictions.

What to Expect This Year at The American Veterans Disabled for Life Memorial: 

In partnership with the National Park Service, we have a large landscape project at the American Veterans Disabled for Life Memorial.

  • At the American Veterans Disabled for Life Memorial, volunteers will plant Nellie Stevens Holly, Mondo Grass, Hellebores, Liriope and Switchgrass.

The number of participants at ANC will be limited and based on the need for each project. Volunteers not assigned to projects at ANC will be assigned to the projects at the American Veterans Disabled for Life Memorial.

There is no fee to participate, but we do invite you to join us for the reception and dinner on Sunday evening, July 14th, at the Washington Marriott at Metro Center. There is a $100 per person fee for the reception and dinner.

6:00 AM Panera Grab-and-Go Breakfast Served by Bus Loading Area 
6:30 AM Load Buses for Departure from Hotel
7:00 AM Arrival at ANC and AVDLM
7:30 AM Opening Ceremonies
8:00 AM - 1:00 PM Project Work 
11:00 AM - 1:00 PM  Lunch Provided at ANC and AVDLM
~1:30 PM Buses Return to Hotel
 5:30 - 6:30 PM Light Reception
