Brandon Sheppard

Brandon Sheppard is a member of the Weed Man Sub-Franchisor team and operates the Weed Man franchises in Winchester, Virginia; Annapolis, Maryland; Bethesda, Maryland; Rockville-Gaithersburg, Maryland; and Frederick, Maryland. His journey with Weed Man began in 2000 as part of the Canada-founded company’s brand launch into the American market. Sheppard joined the Weed Man team full time in 2004 after receiving his Juris Doctorate from the West Virginia University College of Law when his family’s operations opened their first physical offices.

Pam Dooley

Dooley is the owner of Plants Creative Landscapes. Her company takes a thoughtful, creative approach to designing, building and maintaining unique, custom-tailored spaces. Pam has worked in the landscape industry since she was 15, and her collegiate volleyball teammates nicknamed her “Plants.” She worked as a nursery manager and studied horticulture at the University of Georgia before founding Plants Creative in 2005. She has since grown the business from a single truck and a lawn mower to a team of 50 who provide award-winning landscape services in the Atlanta region.

Roscoe Klausing

Roscoe Klausing is the founder and owner of the Klausing Group. He has been involved in the landscape industry since 1992, serving and leading numerous industry committees and advisory boards in the assocation. He became central Kentucky’s first landscape industry certified professional in 2000 and is the youngest winner of Commerce Lexington’s Small Business of the Year Award. Also, in 2014, Klausing was named an NALP Trailblazer.

Mike Bogan

Mike Bogan is the CEO of LandCare, one of the industry’s largest national landscape maintenance companies. A graduate of Mississippi State University with a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture, Mike began his career in the design/build division of Davis Landscape Contractors in their MD/DC/VA office. He moved to The Brickman Group a short time later and helped pioneer their branch model while the company’s focus changed from design/build to maintenance. During his 23 years with Brickman, he saw their revenue increase from $40M to $850M, creating a network of branches across the United States. He was active in developing new markets, engaged in all aspects of mergers and acquisitions, led corporate functions for marketing and employee development, and served Brickman as their Executive Vice President during his last seven years.

Beth Berry

Beth Berry is a widely recognized industry advocate leading the “lawn care essential” initiative in 2020 and is a key resource for state regulatory compliance issues. Most recently, Berry was vice president of growth and alliance for Real Green software, where she managed enterprise accounts and strategic partnerships for the green industry software company.



Nick Brummel

Nick Brummel is the founder and Managing Director of Brummel Lawn and Landscape LLC. After graduation from Northwest Missouri State University, he founded Brummel Lawn and landscape LLC. Brummel Lawn and Landscape LLC is based in Blue Springs and has over 80 employees during the peak season. Brummel Lawn and Landscape LLC offers full-service lawn maintenance, landscape and irrigation maintenance and installation, and during the winter offers winter weather services and other capital projects.  Nick was honored with the Young Entrepreneur of the Year award from the National Association of Landscape Professionals.



Dan Carrothers

Dan Carrothers has been in the specialty agriculture industry for more than 35 years. In his current role as Commercial Director Professional Solutions – Global Specialty Solutions at FMC, he oversees the day-to-day operations of the North America Professional business serving pest, lawn, golf and GH&N segments. Prior to FMC, Carrothers managed similar businesses for Bayer Environmental Sciences and BASF Specialty Products.

Carrothers has volunteered for Project Evergreen, where he served as President, and is currently sitting on the board for Green Cities Foundation and the NALP Foundation. Carrothers resides in FL with his wife Kim and they have two children and four grandchildren.



Maurice Dowell

Maurice Dowell founded Dowco Enterprises Inc., in 1981 as a part-time job while working for Sears Roebuck.  That part-time position has turned into a thriving landscape maintenance firm where Maurice mentors a diverse cultural and ethnic team of professionals. Dowco is a full-service landscape management company now that caters to the high-end residential customers in St. Louis area. In prior iterations of NALP, Dowell has chaired the Awards and Membership committees.  He is a Board member of his State Association, MoGia; he is Landscape Industry Certified and has been a Trailblazer since 2007.

Ivan Giraldo

With more than 30 years in the industry, Ivan Giraldo started his commercial experience at Clean Cut in Austin, Texas and continued developing in the industry when Clean Cut merged with TruGreen, where he became Branch Manager with one of the more successful branches of TruGreen nationwide. 15 years ago, Ivan co-founded Clean Scapes with Rex Gore, which is headquartered in Austin, but has branches in San Antonio and Dallas as well. Ivan is a past board member and director of the NHLA, board member of Round Rock Area Serving Center, and a member of the Greater Austin Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.



Claire Goldman

Claire Goldman co-owns R&R Landscaping with her husband, Charlie. R&R Landscaping is a design/build company in Auburn, AL specializing in custom residential design and installation. Claire cultivated a love for the outdoors and plants as a child following her grandma around the yard. Claire found her calling as a landscape designer. As R&R has grown, her role has shifted to leading and coaching their team while producing a smaller portion of sales and design work. Claire graduated with a B.S. in Horticulture from Auburn University in 2008 and was named the 2020 Woman Entrepreneur of the Year by the National Association of Landscape Professionals. She is encouraged by the direction and momentum of the landscape industry and hopes to be a catalyst for growth and change as our industry seeks innovative ways to improve culture, solve problems, and increase opportunities. 



Warren Gorowitz

Warren S. Gorowitz, a highly regarded leader in the landscape and agricultural irrigation industry for 29 years, currently serves as Director of Corporate Social Responsibility. With expertise in water efficiency and sustainability, Warren holds positions on several industry association boards and is a sought-after speaker and authority on matters related to water and sustainability. At Hunter Industries, Warren is responsible for providing worldwide leadership and strategic guidance in sustainability initiatives. He oversees the company’s Climate Action Plan, the annual corporate social responsibility report, global employee volunteer and giving programs, and Hunter’s Charitable Giving Committee.



John Guth

John Guth is the Vice President of Operations for Green Lawn Fertilizing, the leading privately owned lawn care, tree care and pest control company operating in PA, NJ and DE.  He has been with the company since 2018 and has been in the industry for more than 20 years.  John earned his MBA from American InterContinental University, is a graduate of Cornell University’s Leadership Academy and is Landscape Industry Certified.  John has served as a member on the Finance Committee, Lawn Care Communications Committee and was the chair of the Industry Marketing Council for the National Association of Landscape Professionals.  John also serves on the LCCTC Occupational Advisory Committee for their Landscape Department.



Jennifer Jorge

Jennifer Jorge is the COO and a partner at King Green. King Green is a lawn care company that specializes in fertilization and weed control for residential and commercial properties, while also providing tree & shrub care and mosquito control services. King Green has been in the industry for 35 years and is a staple company in the Greater Atlanta and North Georgia area. Over the past 35 years, King Green has expanded to North Carolina and South Carolina, gaining more growth and traction in the southeast. Jennifer’s career started as a post college graduate ready to dive into the family business. Her father, Charlie King, started King Green in 1987. Over the past 15 years, Jennifer has worked in many roles at King Green, including a telemarketer, branch manager, bookkeeper and now COO. Jennifer also serves on The Urban Ag Council (the Atlanta local association for lawn and landscape professionals) board of directors and executive committee. 



Phil Key

Phil Key currently serves as the President of Ruppert Landscape and his primary focus is to make sure that the company’s visions and values are integrated into its daily operation. He does this by working closely with the management team on its planning, personnel development, and systems control processes. Phil has been working for the Ruppert organization for over 18 years and has over 27 years in the industry. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business from Western Maryland (now McDaniel) College and recently graduated from Harvard Business School’s Owner/President Management (OPM) program.



Chris Lee

Chris Lee is the president of EarthWorks, Inc., based in Lillian, Texas. Over the last 20 years, he has overseen the company’s organic growth from less than $1 million in revenue to $25 million in 2019. This includes growing the company’s 30 employees to nearly400 across Texas. As a licensed TCEQ Licensed Irrigator and TDA Licensed Pesticide Applicatorspecialist, Lee also has first-hand experience in the field. Lee serves on the H-2B Advisory Board and Industrial Growth Initiative Task Force for the National Association of Landscape Professionals. He studied business at the University of Arkansas, and horticulture and landscape design at Tarrant County College. He is a strong advocate of water conservation and a regular contributor to multiple green industry publications.



Doug McDuff

Co-owner of Landscape America, Doug is continually adding to his industry expertise, and his credentials currently include:

Doug is a Past President and Beacon award Recipient of the Massachusetts Association of Landscape Professionals and also serves on the Wrentham Town Common Landscape Committee and the NALP Elevate Program Committee. Most importantly, Doug enjoys spending time with his wife, Kristin, and their two daughters Tayla and Hayden, vacationing, snowmobiling, and playing ice hockey.



Tim Portland

Tim Portland is the Chairman and CEO of Yellowstone Landscape, which he joined in 2012. He previously was CEO of USI Building Solutions, and spent 10 years at Scotts Miracle-Gro, including leadership of the Global Professional Division, Scotts LawnService Division, and Ortho™/Roundup™ Pesticides Division. Portland has been an active member of the Public Affairs Advisory Council over the past 3 years, and is most actively involved in NALP’s H-2B efforts, including leading NALP’s H-2B Advisory committee.



J.T. Price

J. T. Price is the CEO of Landscape Workshop, a role he began in January 2014.  Under his leadership, LW has grown from $18 million to over $70 million in annual revenue, and is now recognized as one of the leading commercial landscape maintenance firms in the Southern United States, with operations in Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, Kentucky, and the Florida panhandle.  Earlier in his career, J. T. worked at McKinsey & Company, in private equity, and served in various other roles, including as acting chief executive of Finn Corporation, a manufacturer of landscape equipment.  Price is a graduate of the University of Richmond and Harvard Law School.  He is passionate about NALP’s advocacy work and ongoing efforts to drive professionalism and workforce development in the industry.



Teddy Russell

Teddy Russell is the CEO and owner of Russell Landscape. Teddy received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in 1998 from the University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business. He served as a member of the UGA Terry College of Business young alumni board in 2008. Teddy was selected by The University of Georgia as a member of their first Top 40 Under 40 Alumni Association Class. In 2010, he was recognized by Georgia Trend magazine as one of Georgia’s Agribusiness Top Movers and Shakers. In 2010, Teddy was honored as a member of The University of Georgia’s first-class, recognizing Georgia’s Top 100 Fastest-Growing Businesses. Additionally, Teddy serves through active membership in the Council for Quality Growth, Building Owners and Managers Association, The U.S. Green Building Council, The Gwinnet Chamber of Commerce Chairman’s Club, the North Fulton Chamber of Commerce Chairman’s Circle, The Cobb Chamber’s Chairman Circle, and is a member of Peachtree Presbyterian Church.



Chris Senske

Chris Senske is President and CEO of Senske Services, a lawn care, tree care, pest control and landscape services firm located in Northwestern US. He has worked full time in the family business since 1974 after graduating from University of Washington with a B.S. in chemistry and took over ownership of the company in 1980. Senske has served on multiple industry, state and local government advisory boards and committees most notably the White House Conference on Small Business.
