The Foundation is a $4.1 million foundation dedicated to advancing professional careers in the landscape industry.  The Foundation carries out its mission through public education to promote landscape industry careers by supporting efforts to recruit professionals into the industry and by granting scholarships to help students get the education they need to excel.  The Foundation has awarded more than $999,460 in academic scholarships to 948 horticulture and landscape students. 


To attract, inspire, and support the education and advancement of landscape professionals who create and manage healthy green spaces for the benefit of society.

What Does the Foundation do for the Landscape Industry?

Research. We will undertake research to understand the employment needs of the landscape industry professional workforce.

Promote. We will engage in a targeted public education campaign that will raise awareness about professional careers in the landscape industry and will support the recruitment and education of future professionals.

Support.  We will provide scholarships to students who are studying for a career in the landscape industry. 

How is the Foundation funded?

It is supported by contributions from individuals, companies, and state associations. Donations can also be made through trusts and estates, and by private foundations. Donations to the 501(c)3 foundation are tax-deductible. Contributions at any level are encouraged, though many companies have given at the $25,000 Ambassador level and the $50,000 Platinum Ambassador level. Donations can be earmarked for the general fund, which supports the work of the Foundation to promote professional landscape careers and attract people to the industry, or can be used to create named scholarships.
