Why Attend

The National Collegiate Landscape Competition brings together every sector of the industry in a collaboration like no other. Are you a professor looking to develop your horticulture students, a student looking to advance your career, a landscape company looking to hire the best talent, or an industry manufacturer looking to connect with the next generation? Then, NCLC is for you.

Faculty

Faculty bring teams to compete, spend the week coaching and helping students, meeting with industry suppliers and contractors, attending the industry/faculty reception and keeping up to date on the latest equipment and industry trends. Schools and also students have the opportunity to win scholarship money through events and competitions like the Career Development Series.

Students

Many students who attend and compete at NCLC, rate the event as one of the highlights of their college careers. The tough competition and interaction with so many facets of the industry help frame possibilities for future careers. After leaving the Career Fair, most students are likely to have  their pick of internships and jobs from across the country. If that isn’t enough motivation – how about cash? Top placing students win money, are awarded scholarships, and events like the Career Development Series provide ways for teams to take home winnings.

Landscape Contractors

Many landscape and lawn care companies participate in the Career Fair for the exposure to approximately 600 of the nation’s best and brightest. The Career Fair often sells out, so to secure premier booth space make sure to register early. Landscape contractors can also register for the whole event, watch the students compete and interact with them throughout the week.

Industry Manufacturers

Industry partners participate in NCLC by becoming sponsors and/or collaborating on one of the more than two dozen competitive events that range from Business Management, Arboriculture Techniques, and Skid Steer Operation to Sales Presentation, and Landscape Plant Installation, and many more.
