NCLC Scoring and Gamification

Challenge Scheduling, Completion and Scoring

All challenges will be completed by individual students and will have an individual score.

There will be 4 to 6 challenges available each day, Monday - Thursday. The challenges will be available from 8:00am to 8:00pm EST, and students must choose a 1-hour or 2-hour block during that time to complete the challenge. All challenges are ‘honor-system’ challenges and scored individually only. Students will be ranked based on these individual scores and results will be available during the week of the event or the week after. Individual scores will not accumulate into a team score.

Event briefings will be pre-recorded with the option for students to ask questions via the platform chat (with answers available to all). Some challenges will be limited to one or two students per school while others will be open to any student that wants to participate. Please see challenge descriptions below for more details.

NCLC Team Competition

While points from individual challenges won’t roll up to a team score this year, the NCLC 2021 event still offers a team competition!

To earn a point for their team, each student must:
  • Participate in at least 3 interviews at the career fair
  • View at least 3 workshop presentations
  • Visit at least 3 Partner pages

Once all requirements are met, students should visit the Team Competition page in the NCLC 2021 online platform and complete the electronic form. NALP will validate the above information prior to awarding student points. School faculty from winning schools will be notified personally via email and listed on the NCLC website. Prizes include individual gifts for each student on the winning teams, as well as team prizes that will be awarded to the school/program.
