Apply for Scholarships

NALP’s Foundation grants scholarships to students enrolled in landscape contracting or horticultural programs at two- and four-year post-secondary schools. Scholarships are funded by "Ambassadors” who are passionate about supporting the next generation of landscape professionals. Scholarships are presented annually at the National Collegiate Landscape Competition.

2026 scholarship applications are now closed. Sign up to be notified when applications open in Fall 2026.

How to Apply for a Foundation Scholarship

  • Must be enrolled in a two-or four-year landscape horticultural program located within the US or Canada
  • Provide two letters of recommendation
  • Include an up-to-date academic transcript
  • Share a recent photo

Crafting a Standout Scholarship Application

  • Clear goals and career objectives – include what you’re passionate about; include professional as well as any educational goals
  • Participation at NCLC and other professional conferences or events competitions, achievements and skills learned or gained
  • Activities/volunteerism – school clubs/organizations, community service, workshops/seminars
  • Leadership – list school leadership roles as well as initiatives/projects or mentorships
  • Work Experience (include all jobs)– highlight internships, job responsibilities and tasks performed as well as skills developed

Scholarship Recipients are Recognized at the National Collegiate Landscape Competition

Recipients are not required to attend NCLC to receive a scholarship.
  • President’s Scholarship - $5000
  • Platinum Ambassador Scholarships - $2000+ each
  • Ambassador Scholarships - $1000+ each

Top placing students at NCLC also receive the following scholarships:

  • First Place - $3000
  • Second Place - $2000
  • Third Place - $1000
